???. ??, 2023. Planned out at some point when I restarted my HGSS save and decided that I wanted to get a shiny scyther for my team. Notably I wanted one from the bug catching contest for reasons I don't know. Just cause, I guess. Anyways, did a bit of research into how I could go about obtaining that goal and came across RNG manipulation. The easiest way I can explain it is using the collective knowledge of Pokemon's algorithms to "force" a pokemon to appear, it requires a lot of forward planning and really precise timing. I'll probably write more on this elsewhere, I just don't want this entry to get too much longer. But as of writing this, I have the scyther "planned" and I've made a few attempts at hitting the delay I need to little success. I plan to get more accustomed to the process first with an easier to catch before attempting again, as a bug catching contest RNG manipulation is one of the more difficult ones to pull off due to its occidentary frames and NPC interference.
